The month also brings new episodes of “Ted Lasso,” “Women in Blue” and “Dark Matter,” along with the season finale of “Silo.”

“Mayday” opens the September schedule on September 4. The Apple Original Film stars Reynolds as a U.S. Navy pilot stranded in the Soviet Union during the Cold War and Branagh as the former KGB agent who may be his only hope of getting home.

John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein wrote and directed the movie, the filmmaking team behind “Game Night” and “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.” The cast also includes Marcin Dorociński, Maria Bakalova and David Morse.

On September 9, Apple TV+ will premiere “Last Seen,” a six-episode Australian thriller adapted from Ryan David Jahn’s novel “The Dispatcher.”

Patrick Brammall stars as Ian Ridley, a former police detective whose daughter disappeared 11 years earlier. Now working as a police dispatcher, Ridley receives an emergency call from a teenage girl he becomes convinced is his missing daughter.

The series will debut with two episodes, followed by one episode each Wednesday through October 7. Maxine Peake, Brendan Cowell and Jessica Wren also star.

Gary Oldman and the dysfunctional intelligence agents of Slough House return September 16 for the sixth season of “Slow Horses.”

The six-episode season is adapted from “Joe Country” and “Slough House,” the sixth and seventh novels in Mick Herron’s spy series. This time, Jackson Lamb and his team find themselves on the run after Diana Taverner draws them into a dangerous campaign of retaliation and revenge.

Oldman returns alongside Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden and Saskia Reeves. Olivia Cooke also reprises her role as Sidonie “Sid” Baker.

One episode will be released each Wednesday through October 21.

September’s final premiere pairs longtime friends McConaughey and Harrelson in “Brothers,” an eight-episode comedy arriving September 23.

The actors play fictionalized versions of themselves whose friendship is disrupted when they discover they might actually be brothers. After Harrelson moves his family onto McConaughey’s Texas ranch, the search for the truth begins to disrupt both households.

McConaughey’s character also faces another potential complication: a run for governor of Texas.

Holland Taylor, Natalie Martinez, Brittany Ishibashi, Nolan Almeida, Ella Grace Helton, Noah Carganilla, Highdee Kuan and Oona Yaffe round out the cast.

The first two episodes will be available on the premiere date, followed by one episode each Wednesday through November 4.

Several series that began earlier in the summer will continue releasing episodes during September.

“Ted Lasso” will move through the middle of its fourth season as Ted returns to Richmond to coach a second-division women’s soccer team. New episodes arrive every Wednesday.

The Spanish-language crime drama “Women in Blue,” also known as “Las Azules,” will continue its second season each Wednesday before reaching its finale September 30.

“Dark Matter” will release new second-season episodes each Friday throughout the month. The science-fiction drama stars Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly as Jason and Daniela Dessen, whose attempt to build a quiet life is threatened by the continuing dangers of alternate realities.

“Silo” will conclude its third season Sept. 4. The season has explored the origins of the underground society while continuing Juliette Nichols’ struggle in the present.
