Amazon Prime Video is preparing a varied September lineup featuring action series, romantic adaptations, thrillers, documentaries and true-crime specials.
Related: Everything streaming in August.
One of the month’s most anticipated arrivals is “Neagley,” a spinoff of the popular “Reacher” franchise starring Maria Sten as private investigator Frances Neagley. All eight episodes will be released September 16, immediately following the Season 4 finale of “Reacher.”
The series follows Neagley as she investigates the suspicious death of a close friend. Her search for answers sends her down a dangerous path as she tries to uncover those responsible. Alan Ritchson is scheduled to appear as Jack Reacher.
“The Grand Tour” will begin a new era Sept. 4 with presenters Francis Bourgeois, James Engelsman and Thomas Holland replacing longtime hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May.
The new trio will take on driving challenges across several international locations, including a trek across the Angolan desert in track cars, an exploration of Malaysia’s automotive culture and performance-car tests in California.
Gal Gadot leads the original psychological thriller “The Runner,” arriving Sept. 2. Gadot stars as Maia Marten, a successful London lawyer whose son is kidnapped during her morning run.
A caller orders Maia to continue running through London and complete a series of dangerous commands if she wants to see her son alive. The movie follows her increasingly desperate race to save him.
Two movies arrive Sept. 9. “In the Grey” follows a covert team attempting to recover a billion-dollar fortune from a ruthless despot, while “Drawn Together” adapts the novel “Marfil” by Mercedes Ron.
“Drawn Together” stars Ester Expósito as Marfil Cortés, the daughter of a Spanish businessman who is assigned a mysterious bodyguard after being kidnapped and unexpectedly released. The romantic thriller follows Marfil and Sebastian Moore, played by Hugo Diego García, as their guarded relationship begins to change.
“You + Me — Against the World” arrives September 18. The French young-adult romance centers on aspiring filmmaker Alma Lancaster and rebellious student Vadim Arcadi, who are forced to work together on a campus film project despite their immediate dislike.
Their relationship grows more complicated as they fall in love and someone attempts to expose secrets that could destroy both of their lives.
“The Love Hypothesis,” based on Ali Hazelwood’s bestselling romance novel, premieres September 23. Lili Reinhart stars as Ph.D. candidate Olive Smith, who unexpectedly enters a fake relationship with professor Adam Carlsen, played by Tom Bateman.
September’s true-crime offerings include “Britain’s TikTok Murder” on September 2, “The Fitbit Killer” on September 15 and “Hair Fetish Killer” on September 22.
Additional programming will be available through paid Prime Video add-on subscriptions. “Slow Horses” Season 6 comes to Apple TV on September 16, “MobLand” Season 2 arrives on Paramount+ on September 18, and “Outlander: Blood of My Blood” Season 2 comes to MGM+ on September 19.
The MGM+ psychological thriller “American Hostage” is also expected this month, although a release date has not been announced. The drama is based on the true story of Indianapolis radio reporter Fred Heckman and hostage-taker Tony Kiritsis.
Prime Video also will offer UEFA Champions League soccer in supported markets. Match dates will be announced separately.
“The End of Oak Street,” about a suburban neighborhood transported to an unknown location by a cosmic event, is expected to become available to rent or purchase.
