The Apopka Police Department reported 28 arrests, 90 citations, 28 crashes, and 1,700 calls for service during the week of May 17 through May 23, according to the department’s latest arrest report.

Among the most serious arrests during the reporting period was a May 21 drug trafficking case on Legg Drive involving multiple trafficking charges and a convicted felon firearm charge.

Police arrested Chapelle Laquane Teague, 49, of Apopka on charges including trafficking fentanyl, trafficking cocaine, trafficking oxycodone, trafficking methamphetamine, possession of drug equipment, maintaining a structure used for drug trafficking, and possession of a weapon or ammunition by a convicted felon. The arrest occurred in the 1110 block of Legg Drive.

Another major case involved multiple violent felony charges tied to an incident near Alabama Avenue and East Main Street on May 18.

Dennis Corneal Trice, 53, of Apopka, was arrested on charges including false imprisonment, leaving the scene of a crash involving injury, resisting an officer without violence, and multiple hit-and-run related offenses.

Police also reported a May 19 arrest involving aggravated assault and weapons charges near East Semoran Boulevard and South Orange Blossom Trail.

Zackariah W. Thomas, 30, of Apopka, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, firing a missile into a dwelling, vehicle, building, or aircraft, criminal mischief, and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.

A separate May 19 arrest on Grasmere Drive resulted in charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, domestic battery by strangulation, and digital voyeurism dissemination.

Herbert Richard Cunningham, 30, of Apopka, was arrested in that case.

Investigators also made an arrest connected to alleged crimes involving a minor.

Maurice Anthony Roberts, 29, of Orlando, was arrested May 21 on charges including use of a two-way communications device to facilitate a felony, transmitting harmful material to minors, interference with custody of a minor, traveling to meet a child after using a computer to lure the child, and sex battery involving a 16- or 17-year-old victim.

Other arrests during the reporting period included DUI charges, burglary, petit theft, resisting officers, trespassing, battery, narcotics possession, and multiple out-of-county warrants.

The arrest report covers incidents and arrests from May 17 to May 23. All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
