The biggest headline is the debut of Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord, an animated series that dives into Darth Maul’s rise after The Clone Wars. The series rolls out in multi-episode drops throughout the month, signaling Disney’s continued investment in expanding the darker corners of the Star Wars universe.
On the Marvel side, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 continues its weekly run, anchoring the platform with one of its most consistent live-action performers. The series—featuring Matt Murdock battling Wilson Fisk’s grip on New York—drops new episodes each Tuesday through April.
Beyond the franchise heavyweights, Disney+ adds a mix of family-friendly and documentary content. DisneyNature’s Orangutan premieres on April 22, offering a visually rich look at rainforest ecosystems, while Songs in Sign Language brings reimagined musical moments from Frozen 2, Encanto, and Moana 2, with accessibility at the forefront.
The platform continues its weekly engagement with sports-adjacent and experimental programming, such as Inside Out Classic, alongside ongoing series such as American Idol and ZOMBIES shorts.
Overall, April 2026 reflects Disney+’s current formula: fewer one-time blockbuster drops, but a steady drumbeat of recognizable franchises, weekly releases, and brand extensions designed to keep subscribers engaged throughout the month.
