The Board of Directors for the Debbie Turner Cancer Care and Resource Center announced that after eight years in business, they have secured the funds to purchase the building the center is in and the office space at 235 East 5th Street.
The Center plans to begin renting office space in February. They are directing office rental inquiries to Bob Caldwell at 321-228-4564.
In 2016 The Center served 185 local families and 93 Children at no cost, and clients in five counties.
"We will now have a permanent home and will be proud to call Apopka home," said Debbie Turner. "We would like to thank all our sponsors, volunteers, community and all that have believed in us that we could give hope to families in need. If you would like to join our team, please go to our web-site and donate or become a volunteer."
The Debbie Turner Cancer Care and Resource Center was first started in the back seat of Turner's car in 2007 as she was going through treatment for a very aggressive cancer. Debbie promised at that time to develop a Cancer Care and resource business to give back to the community in a way that was not available to her during her time of greatest need. The Center is a Charitable Foundation dedicated to diminish or eliminate suffering of cancer survivors, caregivers, children and families through community involvement and resources to establish and maintain hope.
