Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex – Cape Canaveral

If you’ve ever wanted to be an astronaut (and haven’t we all at some point?)The Kennedy Space Center (KSC) Visitor Complex is one of the most popular attractions in Florida and definitely one that you’ll want to have on your list to visit. Located on Merritt Island, off the coast of Cape Canaveral, here visitors can explore historic launch pads and learn about incredible space achievements. The complex also offers a variety of interactive exhibits and displays ranging from shuttle launches to walking through a full-size replica of the International Space Station. The KSC Visitor Complex even has its own IMAX theater where visitors can watch educational films about space exploration.

Everglades National Park – Homestead

The Everglades National Park is one of the largest tropical wetlands in the world and one of the most impressive natural settings in all of North America. Located in southern Florida near Homestead, this park is home to a wide variety of wildlife including American Alligators, American Crocodiles, Manatees, and over 350 species of birds. The Everglades offer visitors excellent opportunities for fishing as well as kayak tours through mangrove forests and marshes. There are trails throughout the park that range from easy boardwalks to more advanced hikes for experienced trekkers looking for breathtaking views from atop observation towers or along beachside trails with stunning views over Biscayne Bay.

St Marks Lighthouse – St Marks

This iconic lighthouse stands at 108 feet tall and has been guiding sailors since 1842 when it was first lit up by kerosene lamps. Today it stands as both a symbol of history and modern technology as solar panels now power its beacon light system which stretches out 16 nautical miles into the Gulf Coast waters making it one of Florida’s most important markers for navigation purposes. Visitors can take guided tours along with watching nature trails behind the lighthouse itself which feature bald eagles nesting right nearby!
