The park features lush greenery, inviting picnic areas, and scenic walking trails that meander through stunning landscapes. Visitors can unwind while taking in breathtaking views of the lake, known for its vibrant sunsets and abundant wildlife.

Whether you’re casting a line for fish, birdwatching, or simply enjoying a leisurely stroll, Magnolia Park provides a perfect backdrop for relaxation and exploration. As you immerse yourself in this serene haven, you’ll discover the harmonious blend of beauty and tranquility that defines Lake Apopka.

And now, Orange County is about to connect two popular trails near Magnolia Park and Lake Apopka.

Orange County Public Works issued a Notice to Proceed this week on the Lake Apopka Connector Trail project, “paving” the way for a new section of trail that connects two existing trails. Construction should be complete, and the Connector Trail open to the public by March of 2026.

Crews will construct a 3.23-mile multi-use trail connecting the existing West Orange Trail along McCormick Road to the Lake Apopka Loop Trail at Magnolia Park. The asphalt pavement/concrete trail will vary from 10 to 14-feet wide, allowing pedestrians and bicyclists alike to safely and comfortably use the trail.

The project also includes a 100-foot boardwalk section in the Northwest Orange Water Reclamation Facility segment. There will also be two rest areas provided with this project, along with new pedestrian/bicycle picket railing, fences and gates.

Other improvements associated with the project include drainage improvements, curb and gutter reconstruction along Ocoee Apopka Road, resurfacing of S.R. 429 entrance and exit ramps, and new inlets and storm pipes.

Two segments of the Trail were completed as part of the Wynwood and Oak Pointe North developments and are already open to the public.

I'm not sure about the "2" segments that were completed. It's pretty much just that one stretch along the new road that connects Ocoee Apopka to McCormick.

The contractor on the trail project will be coordinating with the ongoing 429 widening project as the 2 are crossing. If the 429 project runs into any delays on the Ocoee Apopka Rd overpass section it could cause delays to the Trail project.

Much of the new trail will pass through the Water Reclamation property so you won't be able to see the ongoing construction until the project is complete. The construction will be near the roads in areas, please keep in mind it is a construction site and it is dangerous.
