Orange County Commissioner Christine Moore, along with Orange County Government and Bike Walk Central Florida, is proud to announce the Bike Trail Takeover, a community bike ride and celebration designed to promote healthy living, outdoor activity, and community growth across District 2 in Orange County.
The Bike Trail Takeover will take place on Sept. 20, 2025, beginning at 9 a.m. to noon at the Apopka Station West Orange Trail, 111 S. Forest Ave., Apopka, FL 32703. This free, all-ages event will feature multiple ride options, local vendors, and family-friendly activities along one of the county’s most scenic bike trails.
“The Trail Takeover is a way to connect with neighbors, enjoy our county’s natural beauty, and support healthier, active communities,” said Commissioner Christine Moore. “I invite everyone—from beginners to experienced riders—to come out and be part of this fun, energizing event.”
Event highlights include:
- Group rides along West Orange Trail
- Bike safety checks and free helmet fittings
- Vendors and county organizations
- Music, food, activities
- Giveaways (including 40 bikes and one e-scooter) and kids’ activities
The Bike Trail Takeover is a chance to explore our county’s growing trail system, especially in District 2, while engaging with fellow residents and local organizations working to make Orange County more bike- and pedestrian-friendly.
Registration is encouraged but not required.
