The City of Apopka invites photographers to submit their best images of what makes Apopka such a great place to live, work and play.
The photo contest, which accepts submissions through August 2nd, will award a $75 gift card for first place, $50 for second and $25 for third. Plus, your images could be included in the new city website that is undergoing a complete redesign.
That means you can highlight your photo skills and help us promote Apopka. Selected photos also will be featured with credits on the City of Apopka Facebook page.
Photo contest entrants are encouraged to explore the city for a variety of unique images that best exemplify our thriving community. This can include recent images of buildings, neighborhoods, parks, events and more.
Environmental shots of Lake Apopka and the springs are appreciated, but we also want to see other areas, too.
Send your original photo submissions to rsargent@apopka.net with PHOTO CONTEST in the subject line. Make sure to include your full name, address and contact information. A group of city employees will review submissions to select their top choices after Aug. 2.
Winners will be notified by e-mail or phone call.
Here are some specific rules:
- Photos must be original color images created by the submitting photographer.
- One submission per photographer please.
- Preference is for images that meet the contest criteria, illustrating a positive image of Apopka through scenes and locations.
- No portraits of people or animals please.
- Extensive photo editing is not preferred.
- Top choices are final. Selected images will become the exclusive use for the City of Apopka website.
