Chareika Parrish - Wolf Lake Middle School Teacher of the Year
It is a joy to enter Ms. Parrish’s classroom and see her in action. The mutual respect exhibited in her room and the level of learning that takes place on a daily basis is truly remarkable. She maximizes instructional time and plans and delivers instruction to suit her individual students’ needs – not an easy task when you have over 120 students per day. Ms. Parrish intuitively knows that the key to student success and achievement hinges on building relationships of mutual respect with students and parents, and then providing instructions to meet the needs of the individual student. She builds high expectations of academic achievement for all students and they want to live up to the expectations she has set for them.
Each year the Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce honors the hard work of the teachers in our community. The teachers at each school in the community vote for one of their own to be honored as the Teacher of the Year. The school Administrator wrote the above testimonial on behalf of the Honoree’s peers.
