The CARE Foundation is a not-for-profit exotic animal rescue and wildlife education facility providing homes for over 200 animals in Apopka. Normally, they only offer private tours so this weekend's Open House is a great opportunity to see their facility and learn about their animals.
The Care Foundation Fall Open House will be held on Saturday and Sunday, November 19-20 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. GAtes will close at 5:00 PM.
Admission is $10 for Adults and $5 for kids (ages 4 to 14). Free for children 3 years and under. Admission is Free for Military, Police, Fire and First Responders with Valid ID
They will be accepting credit cards, but cash would be appreciated.
There will be volunteers available to answer questions about the animals. There will be food trucks, raffles and some limited animal feeding opportunities. (Food will be provided — no outside food will be allowed)
The 10-acre facility is partially paved, but there are natural pathways to some of the animal enclosures that may be inaccessible to wheelchairs and electric scooters. Those planning to visit all of of the animals should be prepared to do a fair amount of walking and allow a minimum of two hours of time.
Parking for the Open House will be at the Zellwood Sweet Corn Festival grounds (4253 Ponkan Road, Zellwood, FL 32798).
The grounds are less than a half mile from the gate. Shuttles will be running to and from the parking area beginning 15 minutes before the gates open and 15 minutes after they close. Disabled parking closer to the main gate will be available for those with valid parking permits.
