But this discussion didn't start in 2025.

Back in October of 2024 after hurricanes devastated the area, residents around Border Lake began to speak out for a solution.

The issue is scheduled to be discussed at the Apopka City Council's February 19th meeting, with Orange County on the agenda to present a potential solution. The 2025 Hurricane Season is 107 days away. Will Apopka and Orange County be ready?
