Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a collision in Citrus County last night that resulted in the death of a pedestrian.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 10:20 PM, a 27-year-old Citra woman was driving a Ford Explorer northbound on US-19.
South of US-98, an unknown female pedestrian attempted to walk across the highway. The pedestrian entered the path of the vehicle and was struck by it.
The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
The FHP did not release the name of the driver or pedestrian involved in the crash.
