Breaking News Overnight: One dead, two seriously injured after a two-vehicle collision in Volusia County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision in Volusia County this morning that resulted in the death of a driver.
According to the FHP report, a 2021 Mazda CX-5 sedan driven by a 74-year-old Ormond Beach woman was traveling southbound on Tomoka Farms Road.
At the same time, a 2022 Nissan Murano sport utility vehicle driven by a 35-year-old Port Orange woman was traveling northbound on Tomoka Farms Road.
As the vehicles approached, the sedan driver drifted into the northbound lane, directly in the path of the SUV, and they collided head-on.
The sedan driver was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash, while the SUV driver and a passenger in the first vehicle (a 68-year-old Lewiston, NY woman) were transported to Halifax Hospital Daytona Beach with serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
The FHP did not release the names of the drivers or passengers involved in the crash.
