Breaking News Overnight: One dead, two injured after a three-vehicle collision in Lake County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a three-vehicle collision in Lake County last night that resulted in the death of a driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 9:49 pm, a 2017 Dodge Charger driven by a 30-year-old Altamonte Springs woman was traveling southbound on US-27, north of Adkins Lane.
At the same time, a 2017 Toyota Corolla driven by a 45-year-old Leesburg woman was traveling northbound on US-27, north of Adkins Lane, in the inside lane, and a 2016 Jeep Renegade driven by a 27-year-old Leesburg woman was traveling northbound on US-27 north of Adkins Lane in the outside lane.
As they approached, the first vehicle collided with the second, which caused the first vehicle to rotate and collide with the third vehicle.
The driver of the first vehicle was pronounced deceased at the crash scene. The driver of the second vehicle was transported to Orlando Health - South Lake Hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the third vehicle was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
This crash remains under investigation.
The FHP did not release the drivers' names involved in the crash.
