Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision in Apopka last night that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist, and the FHP is asking for your help in finding the hit-and-run driver.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 10:12 pm, an unknown vehicle was traveling southbound on Tiulden Avenue. At the same time, a 2013 Yamaha motorcycle driven by an 18-year-old Apopka man was traveling northbound on Apopka Boulevard approaching Tilden Avenue.

As they converged, the first vehicle's driver turned left to travel westbound on Tilden Avenue but failed to yield the right-of-way to the motorcycle. The motorcyclist attempted to swerve to avoid the vehicle, lost control of the motorcycle, and was thrown from it.

After the collision, the first vehicle continued traveling westbound on Tilden Avenue. The motorcyclist was transported to AdventHealth Apopka and pronounced deceased.

There were no reported witnesses to this crash at the scene. There is no further information regarding the driver or the hit-and-run vehicle. There would be no damage to the vehicle because the vehicles did not make contact.
