Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision in Pasco County this morning that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 2:25 am, a Yamaha motorcycle, operated by a 34-year-old Dade City man, was traveling westbound on Blanton Road.
East of Lake Iola Road, the motorcyclist failed to negotiate a curve, overturned, and departed the roadway. Once on the shoulder, the motorcycle collided with a street sign and a tree.
The motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
The FHP did not release the name of the motorcyclist involved in the collision.
