From the Florida Highway Patrol
Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision in Pasco County last night that resulted in the death of a driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 11:30 PM a 1931 Ford Custom, driven by an 84-year-old Haines City man, was traveling northbound on I-75.
North of SR-52 at the 287 Milepost, the vehicle suffered a blowout of a rear tire, traveled to the shoulder of the highway, and struck a tree.
The driver was ejected from the vehicle upon impact and suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
The FHP did not release the name of the driver involved I the collision.
