A 46-year-old Apopka man was killed late Monday night in a hit-and-run crash on Marvin C. Zanders Avenue, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The fatal collision happened at approximately 11:26 pm near the intersection of Marvin C. Zanders Avenue and West 17th Street in Orange County, FHP reported.

According to the crash report, an unidentified vehicle was traveling south on Marvin C. Zanders Avenue approaching West 17th Street when it struck the pedestrian, who was possibly lying in the southbound travel lane north of the intersection.

Troopers said the vehicle continued southbound after the collision and left the scene. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

At this time, investigators said no information is available regarding the vehicle or driver involved in the crash. The incident remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
