Breaking News Overnight: Apopka man dies after a single-vehicle collision on OBT

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision in Apopka this morning that resulted in the death of the driver.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 3:19 am, a 2009 Honda Civic driven by a 19-year-old Apopka man was traveling northbound on Orange Blossom Trail south of Boy Scout Boulevard in the inside lane.

As he approached, the driver ran off the roadway onto the outside shoulder to the right and collided with a concrete pole.

The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.

The FHP did not release the name of the driver.
