Breaking News Overnight: 18-year-old Apopka man dies after a single-vehicle collision on Rock Springs Road

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision in Apopka last night that resulted in the death of the driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 10:21 pm, a 2014 Infinity Q50 driven by an 18-year-old Apopka man was traveling southbound on Rock Springs Road south of Ponkan Road in the inside lane.
For unknown reasons, the driver failed to maintain their lane, over-corrected right, and began to travel clockwise in a southwesterly direction across the southbound travel lanes and onto a sidewalk. As a result, the vehicle collided with a utility pole.
The driver was transported to AdventHealth Apopka and pronounced deceased from the injuries he suffered in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
The FHP did not release the name of the driver.
