Breaking News Overnight: 15-year-old pedestrian hit and critically injured by vehicle in Clay County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a collision last night in Clay County between a pedestrian and a vehicle that resulted in critical injuries to the pedestrian.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 8:05 pm, a 15-year-old girl from Fleming Island was crossing north in the intersection of Eagle Harbor Parkway and Town Center Boulevard within the marked pedestrian crossing.
At the same time, a sedan driven by a 68-year-old Fleming Island woman was traveling westbound, negotiating the curve on the roadway.
The sedan driver could not see the pedestrian as she crossed the roadway and struck the pedestrian.
The pedestrian sustained critical injuries and was transported by Clay County Fire Rescue to HCA Orange Park.
No other injuries were reported.
The FHP did not release the names of the driver or pedestrian involved in the collision.
