Breaking News: City of Apopka offices, parks & recreation closing for Hurricane Idalia

No trash collection on Wednesday; City to reopen Thursday

The City of Apopka announced it will close on Wednesday based oin the path of Hurricane Idalia. 

It released the following information on its City website:

Storm Update for Idalia as of August 29, 2023

The City of Apopka continues to monitor Hurricane Idalia.

CITY CLOSURES:
• As of 7 PM on August 29th, 2023 all City Parks & Recreation facilities will be closed.
• Apopka City Hall and City offices will be closed on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
• The City will reopen on Thursday, August 31, 2023

TRASH COLLECTION:
• There will be no solid waste collection on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
• Residents are strongly advised to store garbage and yard waste carts inside, as well as any other loose outdoor items that could become projectiles.
• Normal collection will resume on Thursday, August 31, 2023.
