Rep. Doug Bankson is returning to the Florida Legislature.
Bankson edged challenger Marsha Summersill in the Florida House District 39 election with 42,634 votes (53.04%), while Summersill received 37,753 (46.96%), according to the Florida Elections Watch website.
Bankson was a member of the Apopka City Council from 2016 until he was elected to District 39 to the Florida Legislature in 2022.
Congressman Daniel Webster also won his re-election campaign to return to the US House of Representatives with 260,245 votes (60.97%) over Barbie Harden-Hall, who received 166,575 (39.03%) in the Florida 11th District election, according to the Florida Election Watch website.
Webster took office in 2017. He was first elected to the House from Florida's 8th Congressional District in 2010.
