Breaking News: APD responds to armed bank robbery in Apopka

The Apopka Police Department responded to a bank robbery this afternoon and released the following statement:

On May 20th at approximately 12:15 p.m., officers from the APD responded to an armed robbery at the Fifth Third Bank, located at 1725 S Orange Blossom Trail.

The suspect, pictured above, entered the bank, proceeded to the teller counter, and demanded the employee open the cash drawer. The suspect fled the scene on a bicycle. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.

This remains an active investigation, and our Criminal Investigations Unit members are actively working to gather additional information.

 It was the second bank robbery in the last 12 days in Apopka. On April 8th, the Fifth Third Bank at 1495 Rock Springs Road in Apopka was also robbed.

    Another Apopka bank robbery? Do the police think this is the same guy as before, at the other Apopka Fifth Third Bank? It is getting very concerning to go to the banks, and the gas stations now days, for sure.
