Breaking Morning News: Pedestrian hit and killed by SUV in Gilchrist County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a collision between a sport utility vehicle and a pedestrian this morning in Gilchrist County that resulted in the pedestrian's death.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 6:15 am, a GMC Acadia sport utility vehicle driven by a 57-year-old Bell woman was traveling south on U.S. 129 when it struck a 61-year-old Bell man lying in the southbound lane of travel.
The pedestrian succumbed to his injuries on the scene.
The FHP did not release the names of the driver or pedestrian involved in the incident.
