Breaking Morning News: Motorcyclist killed after collision with truck on Sadler Road

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision in Orange County this morning that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 6:20 am, a 2017 Suzuki GSX-R750 motorcycle driven by a 34-year-old Deltona man was traveling westbound on Sadler Road approaching Laughlin Road in Orange County.

At the same time, a Ford E-450 truck driven by a 53-year-old DeLand man was traveling westbound on Sadler Road, approaching Laughlin Road ahead of the motorcycle. 

As it approached Laughin, the truck waited to make a left turn. The motorcyclist began to pass stopped traffic behind the truck but failed to stop for the truck as it began its left turn, and they collided.

The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. The truck driver did not report any injuries to the FHP.

 

The crash remains under investigation.

The FHP did not release the motorcyclist's or driver's name involved in the collision.
