Breaking Morning News: Lake City man dies after a single-vehicle collision in Columbia County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision this morning in Columbia County that resulted in the death of the driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 8:16 am, a Ford Explorer sport utility vehicle driven by a 77-year-old Lake City man was traveling east on SW Finley Little Road near SW Soltice Court.
The SUV failed to maintain a single travel lane and ran off the roadway to the north side of SW Finley Little Road, colliding with a tree.
The driver was transported to UF Health in Gainesville, where he was pronounced deceased.
The FHP did not release the driver's name involved in the collision.
