Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision in Pasco County this morning that resulted in the death of a driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 3:20 am, a Tesla Model 3, driven by a 21-year-old Land O Lakes man, was traveling southbound on US-41.
North of Goodman Drive, the driver failed to negotiate a curve, departed the roadway, struck a utility pole, and then a tree in successive order.
Following the collisions and after coming to a final rest, the vehicle became engulfed in flames.
The driver suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
The FHP did not release the name of the driver involved in the collision.
