Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision last night in Pasco County that resulted in the death of a driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 4:51 am, a GMC Sierra, driven by a 24-year-old Dade City man, was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of US-301 for an unknown reason.
At the same time, a tractor-trailer driven by a 41-year-old Haines City man was traveling northbound on US-301.
South of Mickler Road, the two vehicles collided head-on, resulting in fatal injuries to the first driver and non-life-threatening injuries to the second driver.
The FHP did not release the drivers' names involved in the collision.
