Breaking Morning News: Apopka bicyclist hit and killed by SUV in Orange County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a collision in Orange County this morning that resulted in the death of a bicyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 7:03 am, a 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan sport utility vehicle driven by a 57-year-old Orlando man was traveling eastbound on Edgewater Drive in the outside lane approaching All-American Boulevard.
At the same time, a 51-year-old Apopka man riding a bicycle was traveling north on Edgewater Drive in the outside lane west of All-American Boulevard.
The bicycle was in the direct path of the SUV. As a result, they collided.
The bicyclist was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center and pronounced deceased.
The driver of the first vehicle reported no injuries to the FHP.
The crash remains under investigation.
The FHP did not release the names of the driver or bicyclist involved in the crash.
