AutoZone Cancels Plans to Build New Store

Posted

In November 2015 the Apopka Planning Commission recommended approval of what, if built, would have been Apopka's 8th auto parts store.

A public hearing on AutoZone's application was on the December 2, 2015 City Council agenda, but was continued, at the request of the applicant, to last night's meeting.

At last night's meeting David Moon, Planning Manager for the City of Apopka, presented a letter from AutoZone dated January 14, 2016 which read:

"At this time we would like to cancel the existing PUD Amendment for the above referenced project until further notice."

But this does not mean that AutoZone has given up the idea of building another store in Apopka. AutoZone's letter continued:

"AutoZone LLC is looking for another parcel int the City to allow for the development meeting the restrictions of the Land Development Regulations."
