The streaming service’s new arrivals include the second season of “Stick,” the food series “Awkwafina: The Unlikely Cook,” the thriller “12 12 12,” and the films “Being Heumann” and “Way of the Warrior Kid.” A new Snoopy special adds an early helping of Christmas spirit, while a free streaming weekend brings back a Thanksgiving favorite.
Here is a look at the announced November premieres and confirmed continuing series. Dates reflect Apple’s schedule as of Oct. 22 and are subject to change.
Owen Wilson returns to the golf course
“Stick” opens its second season Nov. 4, with Owen Wilson returning to lead the sports comedy created by Jason Keller. The season begins with two episodes, followed by weekly Wednesday releases.
Rhea Seehorn joins the cast, which also includes Peter Dager, Marc Maron, Mariana Treviño, Lilli Kay, Judy Greer and Timothy Olyphant. For viewers following the series, November offers the start of a new season that continues into December.
Awkwafina takes on a family food legacy
“Awkwafina: The Unlikely Cook” premieres Nov. 6, following the actress and comedian, whose real name is Nora Lum, as she explores the restaurant business that helped shape her family. There is one substantial obstacle: She has plenty to learn in the kitchen.
The eight-episode docuseries follows her travels across the country as she develops cooking skills and explores Asian American cuisine. Along the way, she learns from chefs including Roy Choi and Martin Yan while working toward a new chapter for her family’s restaurant legacy.
“Being Heumann” brings a civil rights fight to the screen
Arriving on the streaming service Nov. 13, “Being Heumann” stars Ruth Madeley as disability rights activist Judy Heumann. Directed by Siân Heder, the filmmaker behind “CODA,” the drama draws on the historic occupation of federal offices in 1977.
The story follows Heumann and fellow activists as they demand government action and refuse to leave. Mark Ruffalo also stars in the film, which begins a limited theatrical run Nov. 6 before its streaming debut a week later.
A heist unfolds across three timelines
Anthony Mackie and Jamie Dornan headline “12 12 12,” premiering Nov. 13. The thriller follows an FBI agent and a career criminal whose confrontation stretches across Europe and centers on a bank vault beneath Zurich.
Its title describes the structure: 12 months of preparation, 12 hours during the robbery and 12 days afterward. The eight-episode series launches with two episodes, followed by weekly Friday installments.
Snoopy gets an early start on Christmas
“Snoopy Presents: 12 Days of Snoopy” arrives Nov. 13 with the beagle facing a seasonal problem: He has landed on Santa’s naughty list. With Christmas approaching, he tries to improve his standing and discovers something beyond the pursuit of presents.
The following weekend, “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” will stream free Nov. 14-15. That classic is already available year-round to subscribers; the weekend opens it to nonsubscribers, too.
Chris Pratt leads a Thanksgiving-week arrival
“Way of the Warrior Kid” premieres Nov. 25, just ahead of Thanksgiving. Jude Hill plays Marc, a middle school student struggling with bullying, schoolwork and confidence.
Chris Pratt plays his uncle Jake, an injured Navy SEAL who spends the summer recovering with Marc and his mother, played by Linda Cardellini. Jake develops a training program to help his nephew face his challenges, giving the month a family-centered story about mentorship and growing confidence.
Continuing series add to the schedule
November also brings the Nov. 4 finale of “Brothers,” starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson as fictionalized versions of themselves. The comedy explores what happens when their friendship is complicated by the possibility that they are related.
“Where’s Wanda?” continues its second season on Wednesdays, while “Nocturne” releases new episodes on Fridays. The latter stars Liev Schreiber, Zazie Beetz and Stephen Graham in a crime story about a detective whose attempt at a quieter life is disrupted by a serial killer.
