The Apopka High School Girls' Soccer Team was recognized by the Florida High School Athletic Association as the number one FHSAA Girls Soccer Team in GPA at the April 22nd Orange County Public School Board Meeting.

The girls earned an overall 3.8 GPA as a team. Midfielder Emma Camacho's solid play did not deter her from her studies. She not only led her team but is also Apopka High School’s Valedictorian. She will attend Cornell University on an academic scholarship this fall. Her weighted GPA was 5.688.
Camacho, Kayleigh Fitzpatrick, Mackenzie Meyerer, Sienna Pencil, Alexia Prado, and Alexis (Lexi) Perrone are the graduating seniors from this Blue Darter squad.
Meyerer signed to play college soccer at the University of South Alabama and was named the Central Florida All-Star Game MVP.

The team had a tough season, compiling a 9-9-1 record. After winning their first playoff game, the Blue Darters were knocked out of State Championship contention in the second round of District play. They were ranked #33 in the state.
This was a solid team with exciting potential hindered by multiple injuries and illnesses to key players, which necessitated Head Coach Tino Sangster and Assistant Head Coach/JV Head Coach Joe Chandler to constantly gerrymander line-ups to accommodate throughout the season.
The GOAL next year is a State Championship in both play and GPA!
Congratulations to the AHS Girls' Soccer Team... a success both on and off the field.
