In Summary:
Apopka’s Development Review Committee will tackle a diverse agenda during its May 27 meeting, ranging from a Juneteenth parade request in South Apopka to major industrial and residential development proposals spread across the city.

The meeting is scheduled for 9 am. Wednesday's Apopka City Hall Commission Chambers meeting includes review items tied to a proposed 1,115-lot subdivision phase, a 240-unit townhome amendment, and a revised cold storage expansion along U.S. Highway 441.
One of the most visible public-facing requests on the agenda is a special event permit for the Apopka Juneteenth Parade, organized by Transform Outreach Inc. The proposed event would begin at the VFW on South Central Avenue and conclude at Alonzo Williams Park on M.A. Board Street on June 20. Organizers estimate attendance at around 500 people and plan to include food trucks, tents, and a community festival component.
The development side of the agenda is dominated by several sizable projects.
Under plat applications, the committee will review the second submittal for Eden Crest Phase 2, a proposed 1,115-lot subdivision near Johns Road and South Binion Road.
The committee will also examine the first submittal of a revised major development plan for the Cold Link Apopka project at 2560 West Orange Blossom Trail. The proposal includes the construction of a 168,180-square-foot cold storage building tied to an existing industrial operation.
Project documents show the roughly 27.7-acre site sits near the intersection of U.S. Highway 441 and Lake View Drive and already contains several industrial buildings and truck loading areas. The revised plans include a new cold storage facility, a pump building, expanded loading infrastructure, parking improvements, stormwater management systems, and erosion-control measures.
The DRC is also scheduled to review an amendment to the construction site plan for the Chandler Row site at 4648 Chandler Road. The proposal involves a 240-unit attached single-family townhome development.
While the Development Review Committee does not cast final votes on most projects, the body plays a key role in identifying engineering, planning, transportation, stormwater, landscaping, and infrastructure issues before projects advance further through the city review process.
