"My name is Bill Arrowsmith and I have served on your City Commission for 39 years with the past 20 years as Vice-Mayor. I am a US Army Veteran and I have lived in Apopka for 60 years of my life. During that time I have seen it transform from a small agricultural town to the second largest city in Orange County today.
I have been a community banker in Apopka for 45 years and during that time have helped hundreds of small businesses and families achieve their financial goals.
I have also focused on keeping our city on a strong financial foundation. I have helped keep taxes low while at the same time providing top rated fire and police departments and excellent public services at very moderate rates.
During the next four years I am going to concentrate on “Beautification, Recreation and Job Creation” in our community.
I have three grown children and five grandchildren who all participate in many of our city’s activities.
My wife, Janine and I have been very active in civic organizations, promoting our hospital and schools, as well as serving this great city as needs arise.
Now more than ever the City of Apopka needs my experience and leadership to help guide us through the coming challenges." |
"Hello fellow Apopkans, my name is Kyle Becker. My wife Kelly and I are both Central Florida natives calling Apopka home for the last 10 years, we are blessed with 3 daughters, Madelyn, Emily and Lucy.
Growing up close to Apopka, I was active in Boy Scouts, band, and basketball. I achieved the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts, played in jazz and marching bands, and earned a college basketball scholarship.
I graduated with a degree in Business Management, and have worked as a senior business analyst in the financial services industry for close to 15 years.Like many families in Apopka, Kelly and I love family time with our kids, and would like to spend more time within our hometown of Apopka.
As a business analyst, my job is to understand the needs and requirements of those I work with, and to help develop and deliver valuable solutions to meet those needs.
I feel this skillset will help me drive positive and proactive change for our residents as the next Commissioner for Seat 4!" |
