The City of Apopka has released the Fiscal Year 2016-2017 Budget Workshop schedule.
There will be at lease three and perhaps four Budget Workshop sessions:
- On Tuesday, July 19th the Council will review the proposed budgets for the "General Departments," which includes Mayor, Legal, Administration, Community Outreach, City Clerk, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Community Development.
- On Wednesday, July 20th the Council will review the proposed budgets for the Fire and Police Departments.
- On Tuesday, July 26th the Council will review the proposed budgets for the Recreation and Public Services Departments.
- On Wednesday July 27th the Council has scheduled additional budget workshop time should it be necessary.
There will be a Public Hearing to set the proposed millage rate for FY 2016-2017 immediately following the last budget workshop. This could happen on either Tuesday, July 26th or Thursday, July 27th.
All of the Budget Workshops are scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM in the City Council Chambers.
Last year the proposed budget document was 750 pages long.
