AAA: Florida gas prices are slightly higher than a week ago

Oil prices have remained stable for the past two weeks. This should enable Florida gas prices to remain within the same 20-cent range they've cycled in for the better part of the past year.”

Mark Jenkins, AAA

Florida gas prices are slightly higher than they were last week. The state average on Sunday was $3.09 per gallon. A week ago, it was $ 3.075 per gallon.

"Oil prices have remained stable for the past two weeks," said Mark Jenkins, spokesman for AAA - The Auto Club Group. "This should enable Florida gas prices to remain within the same 20-cent range they've cycled in for the better part of the past year."

Ways to Save on Gasoline

1. Combine errands to limit driving time.
2. Drive conservatively. Avoid aggressive acceleration and speeding, which reduces fuel economy.
3. Remove excess weight in your vehicle. Every 100 pounds taken out of the vehicle improves fuel economy by 1-2 percent.
4. Shop around for the best gas prices in your community by using the AAA mobile app.
5. Pay with cash. Some retailers charge more per gallon for customers who pay with a credit card.
