UF/IFAS Extension Orange County is offering a wide range of educational programs and workshops throughout June focused on financial literacy, gardening, health, agriculture, and youth development. Take Control of Your Money for Renters (Online)
This practical online class helps renters strengthen their finances and better understand their rights. Topics include money management strategies, eviction prevention resources, renters’ rights, and income-based assistance programs. Led by Extension Agents, including Orange County Extension Agent Jenny Rodriguez.

Adopt-A-Tree (In Person)
Orange County residents may receive up to two free trees per household at Barnett Park, 4801 W. Colonial Dr., Orlando, FL 32808. This event is offered in partnership with Orange County. Trees will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Due to high demand, trees are often claimed early, and attendees are encouraged to arrive before 8:00 a.m. Trees must be planted on private residential property, and proof of Orange County residency is required (driver’s license, utility bill, or photo ID).

First Time Homebuyer Workshop – ENGLISH 6/9 & 6/16 (Online)
This two-part online workshop in English covers the homebuying process, mortgage options, and steps to secure an affordable loan. Led by Extension Agents, including Orange County Extension Agent Jenny Rodriguez, the class meets education requirements for many down payment assistance programs.

StrongBodies Strength Training Program - BEGINNER (In Person)
Want to feel stronger, move better, and stay healthy? Build strength and improve your health with our 12-week BEGINNER StrongBodies strength training class, designed for adults 18+ and led by Orange County Extension Agent and ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist Patrick Zayas. Join us to build muscle, improve balance, and help reduce the risk of chronic disease. Don’t miss this opportunity to build strength and improve your quality of life! StrongBodies Strength Training Program - INTERMEDIATE (In Person)
Want to feel stronger, move better, and stay healthy? Build strength and improve your health with our 12-week StrongBodies strength training class, designed for adults 18+. This INTERMEDIATE-level program will be led by Extension Agent and American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Certified Exercise Physiologist Patrick Zayas. Join us to build muscle, improve balance, and help reduce the risk of chronic disease. Participants will alternate between seated, standing, and lying positions. Pre-registration and a physician’s authorization are required.

Backyard Propagation 101 (In Person)
Presented by Orange County Extension Agent Clarissa Chairez, this hands-on class will introduce simple plant propagation techniques—leaf, stem, and root cuttings—that can help you expand your garden while saving on landscaping costs. Following a classroom lecture, participants will enjoy a guided garden walk to collect cuttings to propagate and take home!

Advanced Propagation for Gardeners (In Person)
Learn advanced methods of plant propagation, including layering and grafting, in this hands-on class. Led by Orange County Extension Agent Clarissa Chairez, this workshop begins indoors, then moves to the garden for live demonstrations. Plant propagation, the process of creating new plants, is a valuable skill for any gardener interested in expanding their landscape or sharing plants with others. Please bring a hat and water for the garden portion.

4-H Cloverbud Summer Camp Days (In Person)
Orange County 4-H will offer two one-day Cloverbud Summer Camp experiences for youth ages 5–7 (as of 9/1/25). Each camp includes four hours of hands-on learning, outdoor exploration, arts and crafts, music and movement, and a healthy snack led by UF/IFAS Extension faculty and staff. Space is limited.

Green Industries Best Management Practices (GI-BMP) (In Person)
A science-based educational program for lawn care and landscape maintenance workers. Pre-requisite for the Limited Urban Fertilizer Applicator License. Presented by Orange County Extension Agent Hannah Eason, this class covers proper fertilization, pest control, irrigation, and cultural practices for landscape and pest control professionals. CFLAG – Honey Harvesting Workshop (In Person)
Join UF/IFAS Extension Orange County and the Central Florida Livestock Agents Group (CFLAG) for a hands-on workshop exploring the process of harvesting honey from hive to jar. Participants will learn how bees produce honey, explore harvesting techniques for different scales of beekeeping, and gain practical experience extracting honey while working directly with equipment.

June “Pop Up” Plant Clinic (In Person)
Master Gardener Volunteers will host “Pop Up” Plant Clinics at the Windermere and Winter Garden Branches within the Orange County Library System this month!. Residents may stop by with plant questions and receive research-based gardening guidance.
