441 Repaving to begin soon

The long-awaited repaving of U.S. Highway 441 through Apopka will begin by July 28.

441 RepavingThe $5.2 million project by the Florida Department of Transportation will resurface all lanes of U.S. 441 – roughly 3.8 miles – from Sprint Boulevard (south of Hiawassee Road) to Central Ave (a block west of Park Avenue). Work will exclude the interchange at U.S. 441 and State Road 436.

Construction is expected to take up to 250 days, or a little more than 8 months. Repaving is scheduled mostly at night and will close one lane at a time.
