The person shot was a 15-year-old and the shooter was a 16-year-old who was later arrested. The shooting took place on the 1000 block of Sheeler Hills Drive. Police released the name of the shooting victim, but not the shooter. It is The Apopka Voice's policy not to release the names of minors involved in or victims of violent crimes. The shooter will face a second degree murder charge.

A person was shot Saturday afternoon in an Apopka subdivision, according to the Apopka Police Department.
APD Sargent Kim Walsh said the shooting happened at about 12:45 p.m. at the Sheeler Hills subdivision at Sheeler Avenue and Sheeler Hills Drive, .
Reports indicate the shooting victim is alive.
The investigation has been assigned to the Joint Homicide Investigation Team.
