Honoring the life and legacy of fallen Apopka Firefighter Austin Duran

The 2650 Foundation is proud to announce the return of its annual 15 Days of Hope campaign, a community-wide initiative honoring the life and legacy of fallen Apopka Firefighter Austin Duran while giving back through service, remembrance, and support for first responders.

Held during the 15 days Austin spent in the hospital following his line-of-duty injury in 2022, this year’s campaign will feature several events designed to bring the community together and inspire acts of hope.

2026 - 15 Days of Hope Events Include:

June 30: A Quiet Tribute – All Day: A come-and-go event where community members can pay their respects, leave flowers, and reflect at the location where Austin was injured. (Location: 176  E. 5th Street, Apopka)

Feed Our Firefighters Initiative – Community members, businesses, elected officials, and organizations provide meals to local firefighters and EMTs.

July 8: Chipotle Fundraiser Night – 4PM: A community dining event supporting The 2650 Foundation’s mission. (Location: 2201 E. Semoran Blvd., Apopka)

July 11: Duran: 2650 Hero Workout – 7AM: The 4th annual community workout event hosted in partnership with The Oak, bringing participants together to honor Austin through fitness, perseverance, and fellowship. (Location: 3710 Jason Dwelley Pkwy, Apopka)

July 12: Run for Hope 5K – 6:45AM: The campaign’s signature event, bringing together runners, walkers, families, firefighters, and supporters to honor Austin’s legacy while raising funds for firefighter training and education. (Location: 2239 E. Semoran Blvd., Apopka)

The Oak is honored to host the Fourth Annual “Duran: 2650” Hero Workout in honor of fallen firefighter Austin Duran on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 7 a.m. at the Northwest Recreation Complex in Apopka.

The Apopka-based fitness company is partnering with The 2650 Foundation to support its mission of providing training, education and mentorship opportunities for first responders. Designed for all fitness levels, the self-paced bodyweight workout invites participants to come together in support of a meaningful cause while honoring Duran’s legacy. The workout will include exercises and movements that Austin enjoyed as part of his own training.

"We are excited and incredibly honored to host another year of this Hero Workout in support of the vision and mission of The 2650 Foundation," said Andrew Reyes, owner of The Oak. "We hope everyone comes out to support this amazing cause while enjoying a great workout at the same time."

LATEST UPDATE 7/9/26:  Canon Coffee has been announced as the Title Sponsor of the 4th Annual “Duran: 2650” Hero Workout, taking place Saturday, July 11, at the Northwest Recreation Complex. 

As the event’s Title Sponsor, the independently owned Apopka coffee shop will be on-site serving complimentary samples of its black cold brew, sweet cream cold brew, plant-based Lotus Energy drinks and providing additional branded giveaways. Canon Coffee has also generously donated raffle prizes in support of the event. All proceeds from the raffle will benefit The 2650 Foundation, with additional prizes donated by local businesses and organizations throughout Central Florida.
