Orlando REALTORS® don’t just help people realize their dreams of homeownership, they also help build communities.
Now, 10 of those community-building REALTORS® have been honored for their efforts by the fifth annual Orlando Regional REALTOR® Association Good Neighbor Awards. Each of the nonprofit organizations helped by an ORRA GNA recipients’ volunteer efforts will receive a $1,000 donation from ORRA to support its mission.
Hollie Gondera, an Apopka realtor at Haus Real Estate, has won a $1,000 donation for Make-A-Wish of Central and Northern Florida.
Gondera served an integral role in the 2019 Wishmaker’s Ball, the signature event and primary fundraiser for Make-A-Wish Central & Northern Florida. Her efforts to promote attendance and to secure financial sponsorships helped the event generate more than $1.45 million to grant approximately 180 wishes for local children with critical illnesses.
Her efforts go far beyond her own significant contributions of hours and dollars. Her enthusiasm and energy brought new ideas, resources, and connections that helped this year’s Wishmaker’s Ball achieve a record fundraising level and allowed the organization to make more wishes become realities.
“The ORRA Good Neighbor Award recipients — along with all Orlando REALTORS® who participate in service activities — illustrate the REALTOR® commitment to building community and to improving quality of life,” says ORRA President Jeffrey M. Fagan, Watson Realty Corp. “Their spirit of volunteerism demonstrates the tremendous impact that one person and one industry can have every aspect of the community, from people to pets to plants.”
The ORRA Good Neighbor Awards is a project of the ORRA Community Relations Committee, which is responsible for many of the association’s community service initiatives. It also coordinates volunteerism activities for all members’ participation and considers requests for ORRA support by local nonprofit organizations.
