Vehicle Burglaries Increasing

Earlier this month the Apopka Police Department asked citizens to help them reduce the number of Vehicle Burglaries by doing one simple thing; Lock your car doors.

The Apopka Voice has analyzed the available Apopka burglary data for the last 3 months.

As this chart shows, Residential Burglaries have remained fairly constant, averaging 6 per week. Vehicle Burglaries, however, have increased dramatically in the last 30 days. Prior to mid-December the average number of Vehicle Burglaries was 4 per week. Since then the average has been more than 17 per week.

As previously reported (LOCK IT OR LOSE IT), the 18 Vehicle Burglaries in the first week of January had No Forced Entry.
