Updating Breaking News: Apopka man involved in two vehicle collision on OBT that kills motorcyclist

The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision this morning on Orange Blossom Trail that resulted in the death of an Orlando man.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 10:35 am, a Ford pickup truck pulling a trailer driven by a 22-year-old Apopka man, and a motorcycle were traveling southbound on Orange Blossom Trail at the Overland Road intersection near Lockhart.

For an unknown reason, the trailer portion of the pickup struck the motorcycle and ejected the rider, a 53-year-old Orlando man. The rider was transported to AdventHealth Apopka where he later died from his injuries.

The Apopka man reported no injuries to the FHP.

The FHP did not release the names of either the pickup driver or the deceased motorcyclist.

The crash remains under investigation.
