Ten years ago today Apple's CEO Steve Jobs introduced the world to the iPhone. Jobs called the iPhone a “revolutionary and magical product that is literally five years ahead of any other mobile phone.”

Apple has now introduced 10 generations and 15 different models of iPhones. Total sales have exceeded 1 Billion phones.

Here are some fun facts about the first iPhone:

  • The first iPhone was only available through AT&T. The iPhone became available through Verizon in 2011. T-Mobile began selling the iPhone in 2013.
  • The original iPhone cost $499 and had 4GB of storage. The 8 GB model cost $599.
  • It took 74 days for 1 Million iPhone's to be sold.
  • When Jobs demoed the stocks app in 2007, Apple’s stock was $87.90. Today it’s $537.23.
  • The original iPhone offered up to five hours of battery life.
  • The first-generation iPhone had a 2.0-megapixel camera.
