Have you been accepted into Medical, Dental or Nursing School? Are you being trained to be an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)?
If so, you may be eligible to apply for a scholarship from a program that began 40 years ago here in Apopka.
When the North Orange Memorial Hospital was sold to the Adventist Health System in 1975 a scholarship trust was established with the proceeds of the sale.
Since then the North Orange Memorial Hospital Tax District Trust Scholarship Committee has granted no less than $15,000 annually in medical scholarships to students who qualify.
There is one more very important requirement. All applicants must be residents of the former North Orange Memorial Hospital Tax District for at lease one year prior to applying. You live in the former tax district if you live in Orange county and north of Keene Road (the red line on the map).
For more information, or to request an application, contact Julie Bayly, Scholarship Committee Chair, at Optical Eyeland (407-880-0335) or Bill Arrowsmith at Seacoast Bank (407-889-7434).
