The Northwest Orange Republican Women Federated (NORWF) announced its 2016 Executive Board, at a Dinner held at Apopka Golf and Tennis at Errol Estate.
Bryan Nelson, Orange County Commissioner and newly elected Vice Mayor (far left), administered the oath of office. The new officers (from left to right), are Pat Blackwell (Corresponding Secretary), Mary Cox (Assistant Treasurer), Marlene Ryan (Treasurer) Louise Fortunato (Recording Secretary), Sharon Lee Gates (2nd Vice President), Charlotte White (1st Vice President) and Joyce Brocker (President).
Two lifelong Republicans, Patty Redlich and Carolyn Booth, founded NORWF in 2006. They will be celebrating their 10-year anniversary in January. NORWF started with just 10 members, and by the end of 2009, became the second largest federated club in the state.
NORWF was the first Republican club in NW Orange County, and invite elected officials, candidates and others from across the state to educate the members on national and local current events. Many members volunteer for candidates for federal, state and local offices. In 2012 NORWF organized the rally held for Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney at the Apopka Amphitheater at the Northwest Recreation Complex on Jason Dwelley Parkway. It was reported that 15,000 people attended the event.
NORWF meets on the third Thursday of each month at Apopka Golf & Tennis at Errol Estate. More at http://norwf.org/
