Tiffany Hughes, a candidate for State House District 39, announced this week that she earned the endorsement of Orange County Property Appraiser Amy Mercado and Florida State Senator Victor Torres.
“As an experienced public servant, Property Appraiser Mercado knows how to get things done both locally and in Tallahassee. It’s an honor to receive her support, and I can't wait to get to work serving our Central Florida community together.”
In endorsing Mrs. Hughes, Property Appraiser Mercado said:
“With her background as a small business owner and her work in the community, Tiffany is ready to serve Central Florida in the State House. I know that she will work every day for her constituents, and I am happy to endorse her for House District 39.”
Also endorsing Hughes is Florida State Senator Victor Torres.
Torres is a Democratic member of the Florida Senate who has represented the 15th district, encompassing Osceola County and southern Orange County, since 2016.
“As a longtime champion of our community and working Floridians, Senator Torres’ endorsement of my campaign is truly an honor. I look forward to joining him in Tallahassee and working together to solve issues that everyday Floridians care about like expanding access to affordable healthcare, addressing our housing affordability crisis, and growing our economy without leaving anyone behind.”
In endorsing Mrs. Hughes, Senator Torres said:
“I’m proud to endorse Tiffany Hughes for State House District 39. As a dedicated community advocate, public servant, and small business owner, she has a broad array of experience that will benefit her district and the state. She has the ability to work with everyone to ensure that nobody gets left behind, and I know she will make an excellent Representative.”
Hughes was also endorsed this month by the Central Florida AFL-CIO and the Florida Education Association. She previously received the endorsements of Senator Victor Torres, Representative Anna Eskamani, SEIU, the Florida Democratic Public Education Caucus, National Organization for Women of Central Florida, the Florida Immigrant Coalition, Way to Lead PAC, Orange County Sheriff John Mina, Run for Something, Ruth’s List Florida, and received recognition as a Candidate of Distinction from Moms Demand Action.
