New Journey Youth Center Offers Spring Break Program

10371240_1232579703436996_5832212283587679407_o There is a free Spring Break program for children 12-17 years old at The New Journey Youth Center on March 21st-25th from 9am until 5:30pm at the John H. Bridges Community Center. The the application deadline is March 15th.

New Journey Youth Center is a year round nonprofit youth development organization that provides a vast array of useful activities, events and programs to teens ages 12-17 at the John H. Bridges Community Center in building A . New Journey Youth Center was developed in 2009 out of the need for all youth to have a voice, opportunities to be heard and understood. They are also a place that provides vital resources to ensure youth success, community involvement and empowerment.

Some of their programs are afterschool enrichment where students receive homework help and participate various clubs such as Media, STEM Robotics, Performing arts.

During the winter, spring and summer break educational experiences students enjoy a variety of life skills development, careers speakers, college tours and job readiness training. They also offer mentoring at 2 locations at Taylor Apartments in Apopka and at the Apopka Community Center VFW on selected Saturdays. Saturday Mentoring sessions allows youth to work on team building activities and plan community events. Some of the upcoming events are Seminole State College night March 16th 6pm at the John H. Bridges Community Center building A, and a Saturday March 19th 11am Mentoring at the Apopka Community Center VFW.
